The Big Gig final
Out of the six bands that made it into the under 18s Final three went through to compete with the over 18s finalists making 6 bands in total.
The three under 18s bands that made it into the final were:
Breakdown Face, Disciple and The Knocks (Winners of the under 18s competition)
The quality of both the youth bands and the adult bands was outstanding. We are proud to say that one of the young bands Disciple managed to make their way into third place. Only topped by Palomino party and Rusty Shackle the winners that will go on to play in the Olympic torch relay concert that will be held on the 25th of may in coopers field.
Battle of the Bands Final UPDATE
** UPDATE 8th May 2012 **: Six bands competed in the youth final at The Globe on 7th of May and Under Construction‘s very own band Disciple came 2nd, and The Knocks won the event. They will be going through to The Big Gig final.
Events
- On Tuesday 8th the adults competition will be taking place.
- Bands from both finals will be competing in the Big Gig final on Wednesday 9th May to play at the Olympic ceremony in Coopers Field.
All finalists will have the opportunity to receive air play on Nation Radio and studio recording.
