Festival
2011′s Festival
This year’s festival was once again a complete success. With more media coverage than ever, a fantastic line-up, brilliant organisation and lots of happy attendees.
From the great food, to our brilliant new Embassy Stage, there’s only more to look forward to for next year’s event.
Once again, our fantastic team of volunteers both young and older pulled out all the stops in creating a memorable day for all involved. Despite the not so great weather at times, all went smoothly, even with our solar stage!
About the Under Construction Festival
Over the years, youth workers and members of Cathays Community Centre, Cardiff have organised Under Construction Festival. It’s held annually in Maindy Cycle track. It’s been a pretty big thing over the past few years in the local young music scene in the area. The festival is completely influenced and organised by young people for young people.
What’s there, then?
A few bits and pieces, like a completely carbon neutral, solar powered main stage, lighting rig and PA system. Yes, you heard… green! On the magical stage, we’ll have some of Cardiff’s brightest young talent, appearing as
- Bands
- Songwriters
- Singers
- DJs
- MCs
We have a whole bunch of free workshops run by people such as drumming, DJ skills, break dance, spray-painting and more. Let’s not forget, there’s also lush hot food and cakes for sale from the mobile Embassy Café, performances of break and street dance, and much more…
What do you want me to do about it?
Well, it’s up to you, but I reckon the least anyone should do is come down and have a look at our light powered stage. You don’t see that very often. Oh, and did I mention that it was FREE?
We need you to get involved, so sign up to our mailing list by emailing underconstructionfestival@gmail.com with the subject heading ‘Fest Mailing List‘
